Rising sun

Rising sun

Summer came fast, sooner than ever, with rising temperatures and bright yellow sky early in the morning, right before we see the first line of the rising sun. For many living creatures, the most active part of the day is right before the end of the day or early in the morning when the sun shows its first glow. Humans miss this magnificent moment and just recently we started to appreciate the importance of the first light.

It seems that children know the benefit of this moment from a very early age. Often we grownups dismiss their needs and slow down their ability to recognize what is necessary for their best interest. Being a parent put me in a position where I choose my child’s benefit before mine, especially because I had the advantage, of being a home mom. When a first light touches children’s eyes and skin, something almost magical happened: almost an instant waking up with great mood and relaxation and this beautiful moment gets transferred to us, as parents. Seeing our children happy is the best part of parenting and instant recognition for our efforts.

The rising sun in summer lasts up to two hours, the best part of the day right after the heat forced us to go inside and play indoor games. With early walks and activities done with our children outside in the first hours of the day, we boost our immunity and positive energy flow for the whole day. The middle of the day is reserved for a nap and some quiet time after which we have even more energy. Summer days are long and sometimes it seems like they last for an average of two days in comparison with days during the rest of the year. Split them in two and they will bring a lot of great moments, double the great time and what’s the most important-a smile on our children’s faces.

Recently we invented some terms around sun benefits-like sunbathing, where people spend time soaking up the sunlight no matter the season. We also learned that the D vitamin is necessary for our immunity and overall health. In the end, children know the best, they have not lost their instincts about right and wrong, good and bad so following them brings instant joy and a great boost to our health and energy level. As a parent, I became more energetic and happier than ever-just by following my child’s instincts.
